House of Light
"So one day, I went there with a machine and played some songs of Mahler. The mockingbird stopped singing, he came close and seemed to listen. Now when I go down to the field, a little Mahler spills through the sputters of his song. How happy I am, lounging in the light, listening as the music floats by!"

Reflecting
This morning on my drive to work, I started to
reflect on a discussion that my husband and I
had last night.
I'm embarrassed to admit what I realized.
We had differing opinions about our discussion.
And, because I couldn't convince him to see
things MY way, I thought that I just was not being
clear enough.
It didn't dawn on me, until this morning, that not only
is his point valid but it's right.
Nothing like a good night's sleep and a LONG commute
to help you reflect.

Lines, Light & Shadows
The definition of "gratitude" according to Dictionary.com
"An appreciative attitude for what one has received."
There are different formats that people use to express their gratitude -- prayer, meditation, writing, volunteering, donating money to worthy causes, etc. I've decided to use photography as my format.
I'm grateful for the gift--of the lines, light and shadows--I was given this day.

Malibu
Have you ever had one of those moments where everything just clicked?
Everything made absolute and perfect sense.
True peacefulness and happiness ran along every fiber of your being.
Do you know the feeling?
Last month, I had one of those "moments," and I was lucky enough that (1) I had my camera with me, and (2) it happened along the Malibu coast.
This was THE spot.
I pulled over to take a picture of the spot because I never want to forget the lesson or the feeling.
